My flashcan/computer is being very temperamental.

Today is the first day I've flashed calibrations to my car. (updated all the latest firmware earlier on today)

I have been able to log fine with scan and never had a problem.

But when I go to write the calibrations, if I do the self test it only works every 4th try or so, and the same deal with when I go to write the actual data, it keeps coming up with flashscan device not found or something like that (sorry will get the exact error next time) It says to disconnect flashscan and reconnect.

It will take maybe 3 or 4 times, sometimes I have to physically disconnect flashscan and reconnect before it will work. Other times all i have to do is retry and will write.

Hi Pauly, what vehicle/year/model...?

For clarification of versions. At time of this post the latest versions you must be running are:
- 7.5.6 Build 117
- 8.1.2 Build 97
- 2.06.35 FlashScan V2 firmware

If the vehicle is a Duramax you might try pulling the Radio and Info fuses as a start as they are known to interfere on occasion.

Cheers,

Just found post of yours with the vehicle being a Holden VE Commodore SS. Unless you have some aftermarket audio, navigation or mobile phone "stiff" you shouldn't have nay issues connecting to that vehicle. Definitely check the software and firmware versions as there is a dependency both ways that if not satisfied ca cause issues such as this.

Just double checked, latest of all software.

Yes car is a VE SS, everything is stock, audio, nav etc all stock.
Only mod is a over the radiator CAI, but I am still using the MAF. (not that should make a difference anyways)

Will go back out now and give it another shot and get some more details of exactly what happens.

Do check the firmware version also, that is almost more important.

Yes by software I meant the firmware and boot block as well. Everything is updated (did it all yesterday)

Ok so just played around with it some more, sometimes if I just pull the USB plug out and reinsert straight away it will work.

When it doesnt connect the error I get is "EFIlive cannot communicate with FlashScan. Disconnect the scan tool if its connected and check connections... ... ... "

Can you try another USB cable...?

Was going to suggest cable and perhaps different USB port and possibly laptop (if possible - friends etc.). There is also the chance of course that there is a fault developing with the USB connection or circuitry on the FlashScan device itself.

By "Disconnect the scan tool if its connected and check connections... ... ... " you do not physically have to disconect your V2, you may just need to disconect the scan tool software with the red and green icons in the top left corner.
