I just purchased FlashScan V2 Scan And Tune. I suppose this question already exists somewhere on this forum, but I am wondering whether to install V7 or V8 software. The download section says "Version 8 will eventually include new and improved Scan-Tool and Tune-Tool software. However, until then you must continue to use the old version 7 software for pass-through logging and tune file editing. Even if you don't intend to use the BBx features of the version 8 software, you must still download and install it because it contains the FlashScan and AutoCal firmware updates. Those firmware updates are required even if you are using the V7 software exclusively." I assume this measn I should install both versions?

Install both.....
V7 is currently the TuneTool and ScanTool software while V8 is the Black Box logging/reading/flashing ( BBL / BBR / BBF ) and V2 utilities ( EFILive explorer / USB Drivers / V2 Configuration tool ). So you need both if you want to use the full range of capabilities.

Known issues in V7.5
E38 & E67 Locking:
On vehicles that use a rolling security code (i.e. Corvettes) there may be a chance that the PCM locking routines could cause a no-start condition. In that case you will need access to a Tech2 to re-link the VATS
1) Does this issue still exist with update V7.5.6.117 and does it apply to all V2 functions?
2) I thought rolling security codes were for banks. I have programmed my 04 Z06's computer several times with a vin specific micro tuner from Magnuson and accessed it with an ordinary pocket scanner with no problems. What makes the EFI tuner different?
