Hello Everyone,

My battery ran dead so I put a new one in and now I am not getting any spark when I try to start it. The fuel pumps prime, the relays work, and the fuses are good, but no spark. I have the spark plug wire connected to the coil with a new spark plug plugged into it and the threads of the plug are on a constant ground.

I moved the wire loom around and it is fine.

Any info would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Glenn

Glenn,

Do the injectors fire while cranking...?
Does the scantool indicate RPM while cranking...?

When you replaced the battery did you have the ignition key all the way off...?

How did the battery die...?

What vehicle/year/model...?

Thanks Joe,
I am not sure if the injectors are firing and I have not hooked up the scan tool to it yet.

When I replaced the battery the key was off.

The battery died with the charger hooked up to it. The battery was low on water. I added water, it bubbled over and died. I tried starting the car and the gauge cluster barely came on so I threw in a new battery and now I have gauge cluster, motor cranks, and I get fuel pressure. I will check on the injectors and if the scantool is picking up PRM.
