So far I've had two customers that have had idle problems after a cal read. No flash.

Depending on the controller, a CAL read may initiate a reset of the learned data, so an idle relearn may be needed. Another point to remember is to ensure you wait the 15 seconds with the key off to allow the controller to completely reset. I've lost idle spark control from not waiting long enough....

learning, no. The controller will start learning again when the right conditions are met.
Idle spark control, no. Just power off and allow the correct amount of time and it resets fine.

what engines are they? Vortec?

Yes two LQ4 6.0L and one 5.3L

quick solution, go ahead and increase the desired air flow, it will improve. Always, start with large number (if no cam u would start with 10) then go one step lower until you hit the right rev

So what if I'm only reading the CAL ? I don't want to waste a LIC if I'm not going to tune it.
