softening DFCO enable

I was playing around with the DFCO settings yesterday, apparently it has never worked on my truck.. Anyways i got it working but when it enables it is very noticeable, almost like someone put on the brakes.... Is there anyway to soften it or make it less noticeable when it engages? Ramp in rate or would raising the commanded timing help? Currently my ramp in rate is 0.07 and timing is 5*....

You can try both.

Normally just raising the Spark while in DFCO will make it less 'obnoxious'. If you want to soften the ramp in rates, I would suggest just doing it by 25% increments. I.E. Decrease the ramp-in-rate (make in longer) by X percent, then see how it feels.

A lot of DFCO Tuning is done by trial and error and personal preference.

Give that a shot and see how it goes..
