Hello all,

I am looking at getting a wideband to start tuning my 2008 Holden Calais. I have found the Tech Edge wideband and looks to be pretty good value (and Aussie made:grin:)

I will be leaving it permanently installed and was just wondering if this is a good unit or would I be better off getting something else??? How does it work with V2 and has anybody had any trouble with the bosch sensors.

Here is a link to the Tech Edge;

Thanks for any help.

Try a search....

A few on here are using the TE units and find them extremely good value for money. My 2J1 has been faultless in nearly 2 years of use ( apart from a broken sensor ) and it has full serial support in the V2. I also run an LA1 display which as a great option to have.

Thanks Simon,

I did a search earlier but could not find info specifically about the 2J2 or the 2 different sensor options. I assume this is just a updated version of what you have. Is your wideband permanently mounted or do you just fit it as required???

Is it ok to log one bank or do you need to get the 2 sensor unit???

I will look at getting a display at a later date:)

The 2J2 is basicallt a 2J1 with an inbuilt serial splitter ( from memory ) so you can connect to both the V2 and any of the TE displays without the need of the external splitter. My 2J1 is "semi-permanently" installed, it can easily be removed quickly if a tune a friends car. The gauge however is permanent.

Logging the passenger side bank ( for AU based cars ) should be OK. You can tune the car just on the single bank, then if you re-enable CL mode, you can see any glaring differences in the STFT's.

I've got a 2J1 permanently mounted in my car aswell, with an LA1 display. Works a treat :D

Hello all,

I finally got around to installing my wideband ( only been 4 months :shock: ).

Everything was ok until I had to connect the controller to V2. Is there a special cable that I need to connect these together???

It looks like they have different connectors :bawl:

Thanks in advance

The 2J2 should come with a serial cable, as does the V2. All you need to do is join the 2 serial cables and I think it's just a "null modem" adapter. I'll have a look in the morning to see what I did.
