$0281.

What does this mean? Just started using the autocal wanting to log some data on my Tahoe. Thanks!

I believe the 281 code is the device could not be found?

Well I am able to read DTC's (there are none) and read off the current tune on my truck.

Ryanbabz71, welcome to the forum...

$0281 might be "No data received".

Which FlashScan/AutoCal firmware version...?

The error codes are described in the document that is installed at:
Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->Documents->EFILive Error Messages.pdf

$281 is "No Data Received".
Assuming all connections are ok and ignition is on and the OBDII connector has power (check cig lighter fuse), then that error can be caused if you don't have a transmission controller (i.e. a stick shift) and you have a trans controller defined in your selected PID list.

How do I go about changing this?

In the PID Selections Scan Settings (F3) I have the following for the transmission:

TFT, TIS, TOS, TCCSLIP, Gear

Software:
Firmware: 2.06.40
Bootblock: 2.06.03

Like I said before I can pull the current tune off the truck and check DTCs so something is working.

Ryan,

What year is the Tahoe...?

Does it have a ECM/TCM pair or just a PCM...?

In S&T software, which ECM and TCM do you have selected...?

Try removing the TCM.

Truck that is tuned is a 2010 with 6.2 6 speed

The Tahoe is an 08 with 5.3 4 speed

I think I may know what the issue is. I do not have a reference file (E38?) on the autocal. Is this true the general file needs to be moved over to the tune file in explorer?
