Hi Guys, i am after a stock tune but am unsure exactly what it needs to be out of.
I have been following the thred on PCM Swapping and have noticed that the is an OS out there for the LS1B PCM (12200411) that suits a 4x crank trigger

I think it is in these vehicles going by the attachment

01-02 Express Van (L35, L30, L31)

and L30 is a 5.0L so if this is correct an someone hase a stock tune can you please post it.. I looked on Holdencrazy but couldnt find one

thanks

Hello doubledip,

What specific engine / transmission combination, and vehicle application do you want a 4x CKP tune for ? I think there are two 2002 Express van tunes on the Holdencrazy site - 5.7 L and 4L60E and 5.7 L and 4L80E - both use PCM # 12200411 and OS 12212156.

Taz

preferrably the L31 as i think it is a 5.0L - has to be 4x CKP and use a 411 PCM either auto (4L60e) or manual doesnt matter - it is for a custom application

L35 = 4.3 L (changed to LU3 in '03 model year), L30 = 5.0 L, L31 = 5.7 L - in the Vortec family of engines. The L30 & L31 both use a 4x CKP. Check Holdencrazy for the previously mentioned 2002 Express van tunes - these are for the L31 5.7 L - but in a custom application the tune could be modified to run the smaller displacement L30 5.0 L engine.

What you need to do is use the 5.7L Express van tune (with either the 60E or 80E) then modify the cylinder volume appropriately. There is absolutely no reason you cannot use a 5.7L tune to run a 5.0L motor if you adjust the values then AutoVE and setup spark properly.

is there a way in the tune to make sure its is the 4x crank?

Yes … in the Vehicle Platform Options (System folder)

G1207 - Vehicle Platform Options

this table lists installed equipment / parameters – only “Yes” or “No” options
the last row is “Low Resolution Crank” – the column under GMT610 (Express van) should be “Yes"
this indicates a 4x CKP (low resolution)
