I was under the impression that the Flashscan V2 would allow me to read chassis and body codes. Am i wrong or is there a chance i am doing something wrong

You have to configure it... in S&T software, go F5 Black Box Settings, select Tune Settings tab, on far right checkmark the 4 DTC types... then Save to file, then Program to V2.

Then when V2 is connected to vehicle go F3 Diagnostics and try the various menu items.

OK so i have it configured now and it comm. with every module on a 2000 GMC sierra but when i hook up to a 2006 zo6 corvette or a 2009 Silverado i only get comm. with the engine and transmission?

Try with the scantool (i.e. on laptop), see what modules it sees.

Yea hook up with the laptop connect and validate modules the 2000 sierra shows Ecm,tcm, bcm, ebcm, ipc everything but do the same on the 06 vette and 09 Silverado only get ecm, tcm.

So is this an issues of the E38 ecm and the CAN network since it works on other vehicles. and i see some of the code stuff says not available for the CAN

Do you have these RPO codes: F55, UE1...?

I'm still trying to make sense of the schematics, see attached...

it looks like there are two buses (Class2 and GMLAN) joined by a gateway (BCM).

I'm not sure why you can't access suspension/chassis codes... I thought anything on the same bus as the ECM would be able to have it's codes read.

Here's descriptions from the Service Manual.

When tried it with the scantool/laptop, goto Edit->Properties->Advanced->Diagnostic Trouble Codes, and make sure there is a checkmark next to Check/Clear DTC's for All Modules.

Yes there is a check mark next to Check/Clear DTC's for All Modules. But still only connect to ecm trans and no i dont have RPO codes F55 or UE1

So is it safe to say that the V2 wont comm. with anything but ECM,TCM on a E38 ECM on CAN network?

I'm not sure... does your 2006 Z06 have these RPO: F55, UE1...?

PM me your VIN, I can look up if you have those.

If the 2006 Corvette doesn't have F55 then the suspension controller is not present... but the BCM and ABS controllers should be able to communicate.

I couldn't get a list of RPO's for the 2009 Silverado.

ok when i try to validate all on board OBDII modules it searches for engine and transmission controllers only. Here is a screen shot of the scan tool when i try to validate modules. i get the same message on the 06 vette and the 09 silverado. Everything is configured as described in previous posts, all software is up to date V7.5.6 build 133 V8.1.2 build 115 Bootblock V2.06.03 Firmware is V2.06.41:confused:

That is correct, in V7.5 software only engine and trans controllers are supported when using CAN mode.

To see/scan trouble codes from other modules, use the on-board FlashScan F3: Diagnostics menu.

When the V8 scan tool is released it will fully support all modules.
