I pm'd tech Support.

Which is the version of your V2 firmware...?

What are your V7/V8 software build versions...?

For guidance on loading drivers please see this guide (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=9411-UHZV-3143).

The Mode $11 is often because:
- There are unsupported PIDs selected in your PID list
- There are too many PIDs selected for your controller

In both cases try loading one of the standard PID lists (i.e. Duramax LBZ Metric) and see if the error goes away. This is of course assuming you haven't added PIDs and saved over these default files.

Cheers,

Run the Scan Tool, select Edit->Properties. On the [Connection] tab page, set the Preferred interface cable type to "EFILive FlashScan V2 (HAPI)". Uncheck the Scan all cable types.

Does it show FlashScan V2 under USB devices? If not, try another USB port. Update the drivers (Windows) or the firmware (EFILive software)? Open V8 S&T, then click the V2 logo that pops up near the clock on your screen and update the bootblock first, then the firmware.

Well that means it is connected to your PC and the driver was properly installed, have you been able to read your PCM/ECM out from your vehicle now using V7 Tune tool and pressing the green arrow? When logging in V7 scan tool, did you select the proper PCM/ECM when you pressed the green button?

yes i can read and update my truck using the v2 but i have to keep ung.plugging the usb and plugging it back in to make it work.

Do you need to reconnect because it is disconnecting? Do you see the device disappear and then reappear in Device Manager? I'm not getting a complete picture from your posts so am having to try and read between the lines :(

Did you try Blacky's changing/checking the cable type in the Scan Tool?

i am doing this because it is not getting power from the usb.it will not power up the v2.

If you have tried different USB ports, cables and perhaps a different computer and it won't boot (after drivers are loaded) then it probable that the FlashScan V2 has a fault. Can you confirm you have tried a different USB port, cable and computer?

Also, dont plug the V2 into anything but an actual USB header on the motherboard. IE, dont plug it into a USB hub.

Just to clarify, a USB hub is ok to use but only if it is a self powered hub. i.e. only if the hub has its own power supply that you connect to a wall socket.
FlashScan will not work with a USB hub that is powered via the USB connection to the computer.

Ah ok, I just make it simple and plug it straight into either my laptop or desktop PC to eliminate that possibility!

You haven't really answered any of the questions (now months old) that were asked to try and assist you. Please see my posts #15 and #17 in this thread to begin with and provide details.

What are your bootblock and firmware versions? On flashscan, select options, then licensing, then license details. Then scroll down. This info will be displayed there. I was having issues getting windows 7 to connect to my flashscan until I updated the bootblock and firmware.

My question was directed to the OP. 8.2.1 is the latest software version. Bootblock should be 2.07.02 and FW 2.07.14

Latest is BB 2.07.03 and FW 2.07.19.
