Well I have the basics down for Engine tuning, now I'd like to learn a bit about transmission tuning.

Really what I am looking for is what are things to tune for a bolt on car for a more positive transmission shift feel.

I don't really even know where to begin, I did browse through some things but its a bit confusing for me.

Mainly I'd be looking at 97+ Corvettes with A4's and A6's.

Thanks!

Hello n8dogg,

Try reading through the threads below ... I used the transmission tuning tutorial by Joecar when I was trying to learn "how things worked" ... it's a good read.

There are more tutorials in the "General information" portion of the Forum under the "Tutorials" category. Joecar has been busy sourcing applicable threads, and grouping these in a logical manner.

The A4 is a nice transmission to tune - with a switch for Performance mode (Tow / Haul in trucks) it can have a nice easy shift pattern for daily use, and a more aggressive pattern for "spirited" driving.

I find the best (quickest) means to achieve desired shift "quality" is through interactive manipulation of shift times and torque reduction. Obviously, there are many more areas to address - but these are often a good place to start - to "feel" a real world change in how the A4 shifts.

Regards,
Taz
