View Full Version : Do I have the wrong version of software in my Flashscan V2?

Hello everyone,

I just bought Flashscan V2 because I am installing an aftermarket exhaust system on my truck, and need EFI Live to disable the DPF regen function, and disable the exhaust gas temperature and differential pressure sensors associated with the DPF. The vehicle is a 2007.5 Chevrolet Silverado with the Duramax 6.6L diesel, and I am located in Alberta, Canada.

I purchased the exhaust system and the EFI Live software from a local vendor.

I installed the exhaust system today, and installed the EFI Live software. When I connect the Flashscan V2 to my computer, a message appears on the Flashscan which says "Upgrade Pending... Before using this device, select the Flashscan V2 upgrade option on your PC." When I select that option, it asks me to plug in both a V1 and V2 to perform the upgrade. I have never owned EFI Live before, and don't own a Flashscan V1. Is it possible I was sold the version of Flashscan V2? It seems to be an upgrade version rather than a full version.

Any suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? I have made a submission the the Help Desk but haven't heard back from them yet. I can't drive the vehicle until I get EFI Live working.

I think its already Sunday on the other side of the world ... given that, you may not get a response quickly. When the product is purchased through a vendor, I believe you are normally refered to the vendor for support - not EFILive directly. May be worthwhile to contact your local vendor also.

Tried calling the local vendor, but being Saturday they are closed. Getting a little stressed since I need my truck for work on Monday.

Take it you downloaded the software, and entered your licence. Sometimes when entering the licence details, dates are entered incorrectly, or numbers are transposed. Recommend you check that digit by digit and confirm entries.

Hi Randy,

Sounds like you were given the V1->V2 Upgrade.

I pm'd Tech Support (it's Sunday in NZ), but you may still have to get your vendor to fix it.

Send your FlashScan serial number to me at paul@efilive.com and a scan of the invoice or proof of purchase and I can email you an activation code that will bypass the "upgrade pending" screen.

Got the code and my Flashscan is now working, Thanks Paul.
