im new at tuning gasers i only know how to tune duramax's right now. this gas truck im trying to tune has a custom mid-upper rpm range cam. i have cam specs if needed. it idles rough when it does idle but mostly will not idle untill i jacked the idle tables up. it didnt do this before i installed the cam. so im wondering if it needs tuned for it? it idles too high when you go from D to N. about stalls when going from P to D. do i need a custom OS and need to dissable the MAF like i read in another thread or will that mess up the trans operations? im totally new to this, theirs too many modifiers and fueling and timing tables to know where to dive in.

I find tuning a consistent and repeatable idle is one of the most difficult tasks. Give the following threads a look ... they're a good read with detailed tips.

when i want to run a log just to see what may be causing hard starts and bad idle or ect. what pids would i want selected? what would be a good pid selection list? or is the efi live defualt ls1 list good enough? what should i look for?

Take a few minutes and read the above threads ... no sense in restating what's already available. The threads will assist you in understanding the techniques employed to tune the idle ... the second thread is basically a step by step event with a senior member walking a newer member through the process. The changes to the tune as it evolved are posted in the thread, along with logs.
