Which vehicle/year/model...?

FlashScan V1 or V2...?

Which V7/V8 software build versions...?

Which V2 bootblock/firmware...?

Do not proceed until Tech Support gets back to you.

You can program the VIN back into it using the V7.5 Scan Tool software, menu option Bidirectional->Change VIN...

Can you locate the most recent *.blx files as per this: http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=8254-QOGC-9586 (under the heading "Further Support").
And then send them to me at paul@efilive.com

Does your ECM have a valid serial number now? You can check using the Tune Tool menu option: Flash->Show PCM info, then select the correct controller type and click on [Get Info].
Post the serial number that is displayed. If it is valid then we can send you a replacement license for your V2 device to re-license your controller.

Paul

The cable uses the ECM's serial number to licence it, not the VIN.

I am aware of this however while tuning the vehicle last week the VIN dissapeared from the ecm along with the licensing for serial number
