View Full Version : Spark table question

I updated my 2000 F-body to an 02 OS. So far I've been tuning it with all the stock 02 calibration (except for injectors). Would it be a good/bad idea to use the spark tables from the 00 tune? They seem to be a lot more aggressive then the 02 tables. I know the 2000's had a different cam, just not sure how much that would affect spark adv. So far I've only done the CalcVE portion of the tune, no WOT or timing changes, mods are in the sig. I did do a search on this and found that most people were transferring there old stuff to the new OS, but that seemed to be because they had already tuned the car with the old OS.
Thanks in advance for any help,
Brad

Brad, my only input would be that if you have the LS6 Intake, a lot of tuners have found that past 24-25 degrees of total spark advance at WOT is not necessary.
If you try the 00 spark tables and get KR, just back off..

Well I kind of figured it shouldn't be to big of deal considering I ran the stock tune with the LS6 and headers for 5-6k miles or so (with no noticeable ping). I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a really bad idea for some unknown reason to mix and match with the stock 02 tune...
Thanks again for the all your help Shawn!
Brad
Edit: BTW I seriously owe you a 12 pack or something...
