Hey guys,
Had a couple questions about doing mail order pre-tuned ECM's....

What are the necessary steps to ensuring one is tuned/set-up properly so that a customer can plug it in and go? Do you have to or have a way of running a vin # to verify the original OS#, or can you flash in any OS# essentially?

What steps have to be taken to re-learn the anti theft system to ensure it works properly and accepts the new ECM?

I assume you have to program in the new vin# to the ECM prior to doing anything with it, is that a feature only found in stream licensing or can you do it with individual licenses?

To this point i've only tuned existing ECM's not "empty" ones requiring all of this extra detail.

Thank for all the help guys, really appreciate it!

Hello LBZoom,

I don’t do diesel tuning … mainly Gen III conversions … so I’m only able to answer one of your questions.

Regarding using the vehicle VIN to determine the original / updated OEM tune, the below website should be helpful for GM vehicles.
