nah. Just trying to keep it politically correct. You know, equal representation - at least that's what I think it's called :bs:

That's about as dirty as it gets in that pic. Its a K/N and I clean it about every 3 months or so, depending on how much I drive on gravel roads (there's lot of them here in BFE). They are hell on the filters whether conventional or under the truck. When I'm on city street all the time, it's just like any other filter cleaning.

I love it! 9 months and 15,000 miles and not one problem with the rear mount. :notacrook:

besides the 1's & 0's, whats under you bonnet Ross? Paul?

We both have 5.7's, both have non std cams (mine, around 224, 112LSA, Paul is in the 230's, 110LSA from memory, both have modded heads, both running SD, I have two less gears than Paul, but mine shift themselves.
Other things mine has is an LS6 manifold, 80mm T/B, cold air intake and 3.73's, PLX-M300 and Flashscan permanently fitted, other than that it is pretty much stock.....even the spark plug leads are the original ones.
I would consider doing more to it, but it's done nearly 100,000KM (60,000 miles), 100,000 is my cut off point, time to go after that. Though I am not happy with the look of the new Holden's so maybe not.

Ross

100k is the most opportune time to rip it out and start tweaking ;) On the very first post in this thread, you are looking at 53k miles of minimal love (i'm the second or third owner of the bird). It's also my understanding that all the good ls1 parts, save EFILive, is exponetially more expensive due to the rowing process across the pond.

You still eyeballing the 300's?

100,000 miles (160,000 km) is a good excuse to rebuild, or install a crate LS7 (...should be available by then...).

Yes, but I have two majour problems with it.
We can't get the 6.1L.
The price compared to what GM have with the LS2.

I only do about 400miles per month at most, so I really don't need to get rid of my existing car.

Ross

My engine has the dubious distinction (along with may other LS1's I believe) of getting rebuilt after a meltdown at about 8,000 km due to oil issues. I took it to the dealer two weeks before anything happened and said there was something wrong with the oil. They told me to come back at it's 10,000 service. It never made it to 10,000. :bawl::bawl::bawl:

The day that happened was the day I decided not to spend a whole lot of blood, sweat, tears or money on it.
Well, that was until a nice cam from Crow showed up. Its a sweet thing now :)

Oh yeah and I do even less miles than Ross, I've only managed 27,000 miles in over 5 years.

I saw under your hood in person in 2003 and it looks the same, and it still looks very clean;
either the air is very clean in NZ or you clean your engine often (which I don't think you get the time to do....);

the air in So.Cal is fairly dirty, full of dust (and other stuff), you can see a layer of it on the car one day after washing it....:bawl:

yeah, I like the EFILive sticker....:rockon:

FlashScan product boxes are just starting to ship with them, so if you ever purchase a FlashScan V2 upgrade they will be in the box. There is one silver heat/oil resistent sticker for engine bays and one clear sticker for glass. And an EFILive pen.

It is a real pic staged for a magazine article , I used to do all the tuning on the police drag team and they were most helpful , the pic was taken in front of my old workshop.

Twin turbo's are a custom job which at this stage are going onto my Project Monaro (http://chipmaster.com.au/Project%20Monaro8.htm)the street car and the big whipple is going onto the new drag project
