View Full Version : How do you tune the Trans using efi

I have been looking all over the net trying to find out how you can tune the tcm using efi live and cant find anything. Do you need another program or an bench harness im lost any help?

Thanks for the help i can work my way through tuning a motor but the tranny just has me lost. When i read through the tutorial i see that you can change pressures and stuff but when i bring up my 2003 stock ally tune there is nothing there for pressure just shift time and stuff like that. Is there something that im not going into that i should be

There is very little useful tuning you can do other than change shift points and converter lockup speeds.

Which can change how it drives quite a bit though ....

What year is your truck? What you need to do is Read the TCM using the green tab on the tune tool but select the appropriate Allison transmission TCM before copying your stock file.
I made a real nice tune for daily driver use with early lockup and reshaped shift curves on my 07' truck, I would be willing to send you a script of my changes if you have a 06-08 6 speed Allison you'd want to try it on.
Warning/note: The script will be written in Imperial so you need to set up your software to be Imperial conversion to run it.
