flash failed 50% trough flashing. Now the ecu has an incompatable OS? The ecu will not program original read or tuned file.
What do I do next? Can this ecu be recovered?
OS is 12624402. Where can I download to write complete OS? Is this the correct thing to do?

No need to do a full flash to recover, you were only doing a calibration flash weren't you?
Can you please post a screen shot of the error coming up? That message should not be happening on just a calibration reflash even with the ECM in the state it's in. You will get a warning saying the ECM doesn't have a valid calibration in it, but then you can just proceed to flash as normal.

Cheers,
Ross

OK first download the latest software and update your V2's bootblock and firmware. http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?15845-March-05-2011-release-candidate-2

To update the bootblock/firmware, open V8 S&T up. The pop up message near the windows clock will appear, click the little V2 icon. This will bring the EFILive Control Panel up, click F6: firmware and then update the bootblock first. Once your V2 has the 2 amber LEDs flashing, update the firmware.

Then try it again, when it says this ECM does not have a valid calibration, just click OK and let it flash. As Ross said, just a cal flash is needed because you werent trying to full flash in the first place.

Erik, there was some PM's going back and forth too, he had tried a full flash after posting here but for some reason that failed too, so now the ECM can't report the current OS for EFILive to compare too on the cal flash. Anyway, I just said to update everything, then do a full flash of the OS and he'll be right to go.

Thanks Ross and Erik. I updated and recovered as per your instructions. I had old FW and SW.

Interestingly my cal is reported a bit wrong and wouldnt flash when I changed laptops. I had to rename the "real" cal to the dodgy one flashscan said it was.
Works fine.. but it would be good to do a proper fix without losing all my changes.

Can the .tun file be edited to set the calibration OS ID correctly? Mine is like 1 digit out.
