View Full Version : Can't BBX full flash (Error $0502, script file not found)

I've been through all the instructions and formatted my SD card and config files etc.
I've then reprogrammed the V2 using Scan&Tune.

I can read the existing tune off my PCM and can "Program Cal" without problems, but can't "Program Full" without getting the aforementioned script error (even trying to program back the tune I've just read)

Firmware & bootblocks are up to date. What else can I do?

Which ECM/TCM controllers...?

In S&T, under F5:BBX, goto the F:3Tune tab and make a row which specifies your ECM/TCM;

click the Save button;

click the arrow part of the Program button, and then click Program All.

Then, using EE, goto the Config Files tab, check that the _W.bix, _R.bix, _W.obj, _R.obj, .pmm files for your controllers are present.

Post your Options.txt file.

OK, done all that (and not for the first time!)
I don't have a TCM, I only have an ECM. The engine is a 2002 LS1 from a Pontiac Firebird, mated to a T56 6-speed (it's in a kit car). All the config files are present

Options.txt file attached

So on your V2 [Config Files] tab, in the lower pane, do you see these files:
LS1B_R.bix
LS1B_W.bix
LS1B_R.obj
LS1B_W.obj
LS1B_M.pmm

Full flashing LS1 controllers isnt supported yet, the controllers that are supported have a [controller name]_F.bix file. Right now its E40, E37, E38, E39, E67, and E78 plus T42 and T43.

Have to go back to V7.5 and pass through full flash for now.

Ah, that answers that question then - is this something that might come along later? Good job I've just bought a new netbook with a car charger

Erik, I should have seen that :doh2: you're right, full flash isn't present yet.

I'm relieved to know that it's nothing I've done wrong, then! Can someone point me in the direction of somewhere to explain what the difference between a calibration and full flash is?

Erik, I should have seen that :doh2: you're right, full flash isn't present yet.I would not charge the netbook while it is connected to vehicle OBD port (i.e. netbook->V2->vehicle).

The possibility of a ground loop can fry something important.

OK, I'll try to remember that. One problem I have is that turning off the ignition turns off the V2 so I can't see the countdown when doing a cal flash. It also cuts out when I'm cranking so can't BBx log an engine start

Sounds like your OBD-II port is not wired correctly - or is wired after a master cut off or similar switch in the custom car. The OBD-II port should have battery power at all times, and also receive ignition power when the ignition key is turned to the "on" or "run" position.

Taz

We are working on the full flash options for E35A (i.e. LBZ Duramax), E35B (i.e. LMM Duramax), E54 (i.e. LB7 Duramax), E60 (i.e. LLY Duramax), and LS1B (i.e. 99+ LS1 controllers).

So far we have full flashing for E35A, E35B and LS1B working in our test environment. LB7 and LLY should be done early next week.
A beta version of the new full flash options should be available in a couple of weeks.

Paul

Good to hear!

Any chance you'll get P10 full flashing implemented in V8? :D

Probably not, the current stand-alone full-flash implementation project is only for controllers that already have full-flash support in V7

Dang it Paul!

Oh well, it sucks but I know there are bigger fish to fry now.
