Hello Sleeping,

What year GTO are you working with ? The 2004 models were DBC and used LS1-B PCMs. The 2005 and 2006 models used E40 ECMs and T42 TCMs.

EDIT: Or is this a swap application ?

Taz

Its a swap into a rx7 the pcm is from a 04 and I believe the trans is from a 05 gto. DBC?

A swap application creates some options. The 2004 GTOs had 5.7 L LS1 engines and were DBC (drive by cable). The 2005 and 2006 GTOs had 6.0 L LS2 engines. Both of these engines featured 24x CKP and 1x CMP - from a tuning perspective each can be treated as a Gen III engine.

In a swap the most user friendly (and straight forward) approach is to use an LS1-B PCM (your 2004 PCM is an LS1-B and will probably be service # 12586243) to control the engine and transmission. Your 2004 PCM will probably use OS 12587604.

If you use a 2004 GTO wiring harness you will need very few modifications to transition from a 4L60 to the manual transmission. If you use any other Gen III wiring harness (truck / SUV / Camaro) you will need to configure the wiring harness pinouts to be compatible with the GTOs tune.

Well I went through all the harness and took out all the auto and swapped in all the wires for the m6 trans. The os is 12587604. But how do I change the pcm from auto to manual?

The 2004 GTOs came with LS1 engines and 4L60 automatic or 6 speed manual transmissions. The most straight forward approach is to reflash the PCM with an original GTO manual tune.

Just to be clear … you are using a 2005 GTO manual transmission, and a 2004 GTO PCM and wiring harness ?

What year / model engine are you using ?

Yes the engine and harness is a 04 gto auto that I converted to a manual harness and wired into my car. And the trans is from a 05 gto. Where do I find a stock m6 tune and when I reflash do I have load vin back in? New to all this sorry. First time using this. I got the car to start with it thinking its a auto but it does not move yet because I have more to do to the car itself.

EFILive tuning licences are PCM / ECM / TCM based and do not link to the VIN. The VIN will remain resident in your PCM, and is not changed during the flashing process. If you want to change the VIN - you can do this at any time using the Tune Tool.

A 2004 GTO manual tune is attached below ...

Ok thanks for the tune. Is there a spot on here to find tunes in future?

www.HoldenCrazy.com is the best EFILive repository, unfortunately if you dont see what you need there or have it yourself, then search the forum here and post a thread asking for a file. Usually we can find one.

As Taz said, EFILive locks the license to the PCM/ECM/TCMs serial number. You could theoretically take a standard LS1 PCM like you have now, flash that GTO OS and run it. Then put it into a fullsize truck, full flash the proper OS for that truck. No extra fees period. Custom OSs are free too.
