Can I get a couple pid lists for these two controllers?

2009 Holden Commodore w/left-hand drive option. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_G8) :hihi:

Is there a trick to reading the PCM?

I am getting bootloader rejected error.

The previous owner may have locked it because there is a CAI installed and
looking around other forums I find CAI & some type of lousy handheld flasher is popular with these vehicles. :bad:

The TCM read with no problems.

What car did you get...?

I take it you selected the E38 pid list prior to reading ?

I selected the E38 controller, if that's what you meant.
The supported vehicle list shows Pontiac G8 has E38.

I know some vehicles have issue reading/writing unless other devices are removed from the CAN bus.

I need an E38 with stock OS & calz for this car while I have the PCM unlocked.
The closer to AZ the better.

Thanks

I have a stock 2009 Holden SS-V tune.... but it's about as far from AZ as you are going to get. Will that work for you ?

Simon

Edit: I should note that this is for an AFM / DOD motor, so it's an auto.

I know TIS says to remove fuses on some cars, but it's not necessary with EFILive on CAN vehicles.

This is what I get from V8.
10872

The carfax shows it was serviced at the dealership regularly even tho it has a CAI.
A CAI will void the warranty. :bad:

Is it possible that an OS update from the dealer could lock a PCM?

Hello Mr. Prick,

An OS update should not lock the ECM. An OS update will sometimes alter the VIN stored in the ECM (zeros and / or gibberish). Use V7.5 Tune Tool to confirm the VIN, and correct the VIN if necessary. Try reading the ECM with the V7.5 Tune Tool - works fine on E38s - just a little slower than V8.

Taz

So what all can we do with V8 now, everything? (read & flash) Looks really cool. The version I have looks like it's under construction. Time to upgrade NOW! :) Am I the last guy to still use V7 for everything? :)

Hello Boost,

V8 will read and flash - no ability to tune with it yet (can't be used to alter parameters).

Taz

V7.5 gave me a bootloader error.
I then selected the security option and found it was locked when checking status.

Whoever had it last probably used an inferior handheld to flash it.
Does anyone know the keys that are used by the handheld hackers. :hihi:
