Hey guys, working on a 99 Ls1 Camaro. Car has a tune in it but when i go to view it, it states that it has been locked. I tried flashing over it, doing a complete reflash etc.. but nothing works. I just purchased a new license today for it but I can't get that far in order to lock the license to the pcm.

What are my options? Will i have to buy another pcm or send it out to be unlocked?

Thanks!
Andy

Hello Andy,

I'm not sure what the correct answer is ... I purchase used LS1-B PCMs for around $30 (give or take a little). Purchasing a used PCM is probably the most cost / time effective route.

You have to get who ever locked to unlock it...

or get a used PCM as Taz said, 1999-2002 F-car PCM will be good (transmission segment swap can be done to suit A4/M6).

Try to read it using V8, select Alt Keys if necessary. Cant hurt to try, make sure you select 99-08 LS1-B PCM and NOT 97-98 LS1-A PCM.

Or buy a used PCM for cheap, they're easy to setup with your engine/trans specs and tune from there.

FYI but Jesse Bubb can unlock locked ECMs. Very reasonable from what I remember.
