Hi all,

I'm getting started with the EFI Live V2 Flash/Tune to put a tune into my car (made by a professional company), and i follow the procedure of the EFI live for the registering but i think that i miss something...

I get a error message like "the controller need to be license", i check that on my EFI live and i have 2 VIN license available...

Did you do this first:
- install V7 build 157 and V8 build 151 (http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=124).
- use V8 EFILive Explorer to flash V2 with firmware 2.07.09 (which comes with V8 install),
- use V8 Scan & Tune to configure BBx settings in your V2.

Hi Joecar,

thanks for your answer.
I already did these work, i did a copy of the original file of the car with EFI live V2 and save it into my computer.

Now the next step is to put the file into the car...when i try to flash the car i get error message like $00C2

thanks in advance

Error $0532 can occur under three circumstances during Black Box Flashing (BBF):
1. When you attempt to flash a controller for the first time, you will be asked to allocate an available VIN license to the controller, if you select NO to that allocation, then error $0532 will be displayed.
2. If you attempt to flash a Cummins controller and your FlashScan is only licensed to flash GM controllers, or you attempt to flash a GM controller and your FlashScan is only licensed to flash Cummins controllers. You can display what manufacturers' controllers are supported by your FlashScan device under F4: Options->F3: Licensing->F4: Tuning Licenses.
3. Error $00C2 is a known issue with an older version of the FlashScan firmware. It happens due to a bug in the VIN license allocation routines that causes the firmware incorrectly think that the VIN license allocation has failed. Please update to the latest firmware available as described in post #2 especially the part about updating the firmware in your FlashScan device.
