the v2 works in my E1 hsv maloo
but not in the E3
and my own v2 witch i have been using for over two years now WONT WORK in the new E3 hsv maloo
both cars have E38 ECM

one is a manuel one is auto but with the auto you choose E38-T43

It may help. Build 155 contains updated firmware for FlashScan V2. That updated firmware (V2.07.11) contains changes to the way BBL starts up. On some E38/T43 combos the logging would not start - that is fixed in the new firmware.

If, after you install the new firmware it still fails, then after it fails save a trace file on the V2 (using options F1->F3->F1), then using EFILive Explorer copy that saved trace file to your PC/laptop and email it to me at paul@efilive.com

this is the answer from pauel

It will be fixed in the next release of the V8 software. The PIDs for that
OS 12639270 hadn’t been defined

when is the next v8 up date ??

The update was scheduled for last Monday but just prior to releasing it we got reports from users that the DVT (Dynamic Vehicle Testing, aka bidirectional controls) were incorrect for some CAN vehicles.
We've been fixing those this week. Hopefully we'll have the update ready early next week.

If you mean have we added DMA PID support for OS 12639270, then yes that is in the latest release.

No. It is probable that the data required to display current gear for a manual gear box is broadcast on the CAN bus by the ECM.
EFILive does not read the broadcast data while data logging.

when was it released
June 24, 2011, here:
http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=133

However, I recommend updating the software using:
Start->All Programs->EFILive->V7.5->Tools->Check for New Update
and
Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->Tools->Check for New Update

i have up dated every thing v8/v7.5/and the firmware /boot block to day
now i find that the E38 pid ( gear ) for the a6 just shows a 1 in neutral or unknown
all so says says unknown when its in gear ? on the v2 screen
BUT when you log it
it show which gear OK on play back on the PC screen in scan tool
all the other 34 pids show on the v2 screen OK
any ideas
cheers

Yes, I find the same thing... on V2 the encoded pids (e.g. TRNR, GEAR, TCCMDE, TSTATExx, STATExx) show value Unknown on V2 and show correct value in the V7 scantool.
