I am having an issue with my scan tool getting it to work with the cummins. It connects to the ecm fine, and I can select my pid group, but when I try to put the readings into motion nothing happens. when I press the square stop buttons, values appear for a split second but then disappear again. any ideas or has anyone else seen this yet?

Do you press the round red record button...?
Check to see if a file is deposited in this folder (WinXP used for example): My Documents\EFILive\V7.5\Logged Data
Go Edit->Properties->Logging and checkmark Prompt for filename.

sorry it took so long to reply, there is nothing in the logged data file other than what comes with the software, but nothing new.

After you press the stop button, please select File->Generate error report, save the error report and send it to me at paul@efilive.com

Your FlashScan cable appears to be using old firmware (V2.07.09)
I highly recommend updating the firmware to V2.07.12
Please download and install the latest V7.5 and V8 software available here:
http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=133
With FlashScan connected to your PC:
1. Run the program Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->EFILive HAPI
2. Click on the FlashScan icon that appears at the and of the Windows Task Bar.
3. Select the F6: Firmware tab page.
4. Click on the [Update Firmware] button.
Note: the EFILive HAPI program may detect the firmware is out of date and may automatically prompt you to update it.
