After i did the latest 7.5 update a few months back i sometimes run into issues with the laptop and v2 not comunicating.I will try and open the program and it just locks up.Most times i just reload the update and it works fine.well now it wont work at all.Ive tried updating drivers and changing cables, also tried my other v2 and still the same problem.Anyone has any input that would be great.

Install V8 build 155, then run V8 EFILive Explorer, goto the firmware tab, browse to firmware 2.07.11 and program into V2.

Thats OLD firmware, you really need to upgrade to 2.07.01 (or is it 2.07.02 now) bootblock and the latest firmware 2.07.11.

AllOut, easiest way is to download the latest updates from the main EFILive.com Downloads page. For this version, I recommend you save your Options.txt file from My Documents\EFILive\V8\Config and then uninstall the old EFILive V8 software. Then install both the latest V7.5 and V8 that you downloaded previously. Copy the Options.txt file back to the location above. Now open V8 Scan & Tune, you will see a little FS V2 icon appear in the taskbar near the Windows clock. Click it, then click F6: Firmware. If you havent plugged your V2 in yet, do it now. Click Refresh, then it will say you need to update the bootblock and firmware. Do the Bootblock first, just click the Update Boot Block button. Once thats done, click Update Firmware. After your V2 reboots, you're set. Copy the BBX files you want back to your device (Id recommend formatting it because a LOT has changed since the versions you're running) and you should be good to tune.

There is a general knowledgebase article HERE (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=7243-SFGL-2949) that covers bootblock and firmware updates.

You may also want to try reverting back to the older drivers (see this POST (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?16487-Other-problems&p=146721&viewfull=1#post146721)). Some customers have reported the Tune Tool hangs on startup with the FlashScan V2 connected. We're looking into that presently.
