I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado w/5.3 and recently installed efans using Pin42 red and Pin33 Blue. Now knowing that Pin 33 is used already for auto rec. I turned G0106 to Fan #2control. But my issue is with Pin42 is always grounded from the time the truck is running till I turn it off. Now I can turn them off while using the scan tool's DVT. The OS is 09373372. Any help would be appriciated

Any thoughts on what could be the issue? Do I need to upgrade to a newer O/S like a 2002?
If any more info is needed please let me know.

try system, fans, parameter, G1203 to auxillary if your using pin 42 as an earth to enable a relay, check your turn on/off settings are correct as well.

I have the fans set up as a series using pin 42 to turn on fan 1 and pin 33 to turn on fan 2 (changed pin33 to fan2 in G0106). Which pin33 works fine when it hits the correct temp. And I followed the same settings as BlackGMC and made sure that the settings are in psi not kpa.

Not completely sure how you have the fans wired. OEM used a 3 relay system on 1999-2002 Camaro, and 2005-2007 Gen III trucks. In this system both fans operate on both Fan 1 and Fan 2 - just at different speeds.

Take a look at the thread below ...

A 1999-2002 truck OS can be configured to control Fan 1 and Fan 2 based on ECT - but NOT when used with A/C. The A/C pressure settings / pressure switch was not used in trucks until 2003. In a custom / Hot Rod application, swapping in a 1999-2002 Camaro system file (and using an A/C switch from a Camaro) will get the fans working with A/C. In an OEM application, swapping in a Camaro system file will cause compatibility issues with components - the IPC and Park /Neutral switch immediately come to mind.

I have the fans wired with a 3-relay setup very similar to the 2005 trucks are and fan settings are correct to what they should be.
