How do I set the Map to log a B8101 and B8102 reading on an E67? All the VE Calculated pids are showing up as not currently validated and have a red X through them on the PIDS.

Perhaps more specifically, what do I set the PROPERTIES-->DATA TAB--> Parameter drop field to? I swear I had it set at something to show the right numbers once....but now it's not right.

Do I need to do a Calc_pids.txt modification?
:help2:

I'm guessing part of my problem is that I was using the LS1 Calc.VE rather than this http://download.efilive.com/Tutorials/PDF/Virtual%20VE%20Adjustment%20Tutorial.pdf

Yes, that is LS1 VE...

If you're trying to tune VVE tables, then the VVE tutorial and guide documents are to be used since E38/E67 VVE is a few levels more abstracted than LS1 VE.

To make a map (the easy way):
- goto table in tunetool, select whole table, rightclick->copy-with-labels,
- goto map in scantool, in each of Row and Col tabs click Paste Labels, and then in Data tab select the data pid.

The data pid would be a BEN pid (either LTFT BEN or wideband BEN).

Also, on a map, there are 4 buttons (min, max, avg, count), make sure you click avg (x with bar above it).

Thanks for the quick reply Joe, but I'm not seeing the BEN LTFT...and I still have red X's in my selected PIDS. Am I overlooking one?

Hi Jesse,

From the calc_pids.txt file in post #1, it's called CALC.LTFTBEN.

Pid with red X: on the pid do rightclick->More Info, this will indocate why the red X (needs some other pids selected).

E38/E67 is completely different beastie than LS1... so much so that I have stayed away from them. :)

There might be a way of adapting the Calc.VET Tutorial pids to the VVE Tutorial, I'll have to read thru it...

wherever a BEN is used you can use LTFTBEN as long as you stay in closed loop;

if you go to open loop then you need a wideband.

[ the SELBEN you saw in the Calc.VET Tutorial combines LTFTBEN and WO2BEN ]

Joe, if you need a Calc.VET for a VVE truck let me know and Ill be happy to assist. Not driving my TBSS very much as my internship this summer is with my dad and brother so we either take dad's car or my brothers car. For a 45mi a day commute, getting 30mpg on the highway in my brother's Jetta vs 15-16 in my TBSS its a no-brainer.

And Jesse, just got your PM but I wondered if you were trying to use the LS1 Auto VE and not a VVE tutorial.

Erik, yes if you have spare time, thanks

[ as you can see, I'm not to familiar with E38/E67 manner of things :doh2: ]

If you have a chance to look at it Im happy to confer and test different things. BTW I have my LC1 hooked up to my V2 serially so that should make getting the BENs a little easier.

Im trying to figure out how we can turn the logged data into the VE coefficients. We can either try to apply the log and calc PIDs to the coefficients or to the actual VVE table, to the coefficients might be harder but more accurate...
