New guy here, trying to find out what PID to select for this 98 Suburban. I have done some searches, but have found some conflicting information. I have the option L31, is this correct?
Thanks:help2:

Hello Rockien,
I'm not sure about what you are actually asking. The L31 was a 5.7 L Gen I based SBC. Your 7.4 L is a BBC (454) based engine - I think these were designated as L19.
A PID is a "parameter identifier" - loosely (but not exactly) these are used to scan or log components (sensors) or processes (at work in the PCM).
If you are asking which controller to select to connect to the PCM - if it uses a "Black Box" Vortec controller - then select the "L31 Vortec 98-00 PCM" option from the drop down menu.

Thanks TAZ, I do have the BB, and that is what I was asking about. Not sure what PID to pick for scanning either, but looks like you can make your own PID also. I'm sure I will have many question, but going to start with fixing the speedo for my tires.
