View Full Version : Runway lighting on E38 & E67 ECM's?

Runway lighting works fine for me on 98-2006 PCM's but when try to use it on anything with an E38 or E67 ECm it doesn't. Example: On hi-octane spark table the RPM horizontal runway follows rpm's ok but the vertical air flow runway stays on the last coluum. Is there a trick to these that I'm unaware of?

On the scantool PIDs tab make sure the pid has the same units as the tunetool table axis.

Make sure you're logging the same pid as the tunetool table axis.

You can edit the linking pids, look for a file named cal_link.txt.

The link at the top of my map is E38.APCYL_DMA and this was listed in cal_link B5913.COL=GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA,GM.CYLAIR_DMA,GM.DYNCYL AIR,CALC.CYLAIR
Do I add a coma and add E38.APCYL_DMA?

Yes, exactly as you said...

like this:
B5913.COL=GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA,GM.CYLAIR_DMA,GM.DYNCYL AIR,CALC.CYLAIR,E38.APCYL_DMA

or like this:
B5913.COL=E38.APCYL_DMA,GM.DYNCYLAIR_DMA,GM.CYLAIR _DMA,GM.DYNCYL AIR,CALC.CYLAIR

(did you notice when you hover the cursor over the axis label a yellow box pops up listing all the pids after the first one).

Just when I thought I had this whipped! Found the file on my desk top PC using Windows 7 but can't find it on my laptop using Windows XP. Is it suppose to be in the configuration folder? Never noticed before the cursor highlighting the PID's. Learn something everyday!

Excellent! I've just gone and updated my references for all the dynamics tables! Works a treat, thanks joecar.

Simon, you're welcome, it does make log/tune analysis easier :cheers:

It's amazing how well Joecar knows EFIlive and his willingness to help others! Thanks also from me.

I think I was in the "General LS1" section with 5913COL= and should have been in the "E38" section 5901COL= (same as my tune map) Does this sound right? Wow, the cal_link page is huge!

The table id in cal_link.txt has to be the same as the table id you see in the tunetool.

Still messing with this. Got a truck (2011) back in the shop today with the E38 ECM. Could not get it to validate E38.APCYL_DMA. Had the "dreaded X". Is it really not supported?

Post OS # and tune file, might not be mapped yet. All DMA PIDs have the be manually mapped by EFILive per OS.

I forgot how to post a tune file on here. Copy and paste don't work....?

Click the Go Advanced button, then below the first box there will be another button that says Manage Attachments. Click it, click Add Files, select your tune, click upload, then click done. Finally submit the reply.

Thanks guys, I feel so dumb at times. This tune is the last one I have tried it on but I have not got any E38 ECM's to validate it yet.

Sure hoping someone can help me out with this issue.......

For the E38, you need to use the "E38" specific DMA PIDs. In this case, look for ...

E38.APCYL_DMA

This should work fine.

Simon.

My problem is it will not validate.

Ok. When I get a chance, I'll post a log from an E38. That should bring up the PID.

Here is a log from the 2011 truck. You can see in thePID's the DMA's that would not validate. Strange thing is if you open the dashboard they show up as validated

Have you tried setting up the PID's in the V2 and using BBL to log the data?

If you want to try logging on the laptop again, try opening this log file, then clearing the data for a new log. This PID selection will remain and may also keep the validation.

Have not really messed with BBL that much. I also like being able to watch a few things when logging on the laptop. From what I see on your log there must just be a quirk in my install or something. I'm assuming your log is on a car and not a truck with the E38? May be awhile before I get another E38 to try your PID on.

yes, it's a car, not a truck.
