My neighbor has some problems with the PCM talking to his BCM after the dealer did something. I was looking at the supported list and how can I tell the difference from 2000 - 2002 2.2L and the 2002 - 2004 2.2L PCMs?

Can I just read his PCM and hope everybody (PCM & BCM) plays nice after the read?

They probably look different. You could also perform the Auto Detect using the V8 software to see if it is able to determine the ECM type. If it doesn't detect it then it is not going to be a supported ECM (more than likely).
