Was scanning the car fine and decided to add the o2 sensor voltage pids, they didn't pick up so I turned off the car and cycled power on the scanner. Now every time I turn the scanner on it detects the wrong controller(used to show the E38 ecm, now it always shows the Flashscan/Autocal picture ...after I select the right one it seems to connect fine, but then when I go to scan I get the error in the second pic below and it will not scan.

This is EFILive v1 7.5. Thanks!

Anyone have a guess? Would really like to get some logging done today.

I reinstalled 7.5 and the error is gone now but when I start monitoring it instantly pauses and will not monitor. I hit the pause button and it says recording but the top of my screen just flashes and goes crazy & will not record or monitor..

Uninstalled 7.5 and installed from the disc that came with the software, version 7.3, and so far everything works as it should.

Are you sorted out now...?

You should really be running the latest software.

Yep all is good now, I will update to 7.5 in a couple of weeks after the tune is straight. I'm going to the track next weekend and don't want to do anything to mess up EFILive beforehand.

Appreciate it joecar, can always count on a reply from you!

It sounds like you might have USB driver issues. If you want to try the new version again and still have the problem try the following. If you install the RC version or wait for the next release this problem should be resolved.

Ira

Quit all EFILIve programs and unplug your FlashScan from the computer.

Go to Start => Programs => EFILive => V8 => Tools => USB Manager. If you're running Vista or Win7, Right click on USB Manager and choose "Run as Administrator"

Click on the big Uninstall USB Drivers button and wait for it to finish. 15-30 seconds or so.

Then click on the Install USB V2.02.04 button, the one on the left and install those new drivers.

Then plug in your FlashScan cable and wait for the drivers to install.

Now try and see if it works better.

Thanks I will definitely try that after next weekend, like I said everything seems to be working correctly with the old version so I don't want to mess that up before I'm finished logging and my tune is good to go!

So even when you select the E38 controller it still wont let you log? In both of your pictures you're only connecting to your FS and not a vehicle, just want to make sure you select the E38 from the dropdown menu in the second pic.

Yep it would not let me log even when selecting E38 ..when I tried to monitor it just said Paused, try to take it off pause and start recording & the top of the screen would just go crazy.

And if anyone is interested in my checking out my 16.7 AFR WOT logs feel free! My tuner is looking at them today, but I'm bored so I'll post them here for laughs, OMG's, or advice. :hihi:

You'll need to save the .txt file in place of your old one to view the custom AEM wideband pids in the log. Frame 3500 has a 35-80 mph WOT run, couldn't do much because of the PoPo, the rest is cruising around.
