I haven't seen $0340 in a while but I do get booted without an error code, it's so random. I'm now in the habit of not touching a thing on the truck once a flash is started because it seems that it only take a cross eyed glance or maybe a static charge to exit the script.

I get errors too at random, twice while reflashing at a dyno day
I found it helps to unplug the pass-through tool from the truck and laptop, restart the laptop and plug it all back together.
