Why do I get this sometimes while trying to flash ecm?

i get that too once and a while. start all over and reflash and it goes away....

I believe that the ECM in that particular instance didnt like being talked to in a certian way...and says piss off.

Like above, i just reflash...

I get that same error and response talking to my wife......

I haven't seen $0340 in a while but I do get booted without an error code, it's so random. I'm now in the habit of not touching a thing on the truck once a flash is started because it seems that it only take a cross eyed glance or maybe a static charge to exit the script.

I get errors too at random, twice while reflashing at a dyno day :shock:

I found it helps to unplug the pass-through tool from the truck and laptop, restart the laptop and plug it all back together.

If you having issues reading of flashing the Cummins (or any controller) please see this knowledgebase article (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=8254-QOGC-9586) and send through just the relevant/specific trace file(s).
