Just updated to the newest version of 7.5 and 8 listed on the download section so that I had the efilive explorer to retrieve logs from my v2. after installing update and updating firmware and boot i went out to the truck to test log again. It is only logging 1 of 30 or so pids. v2 will not scan or record correctly. i am sure that i forgot something simple. any thoughts?

Hi Paul,
Did you configure BBL using the V8 S&T program for the pids you want to log...?

I went into the s&t and selected the pids that i want to log. The pids are showing up on the v2 when i attempt to log, but they all stay a 0 or unknown except 1. Is ther other configuring that i need to do?

Updated the firmware to 2.7.14 that was with the update. i updated the firmware and bootblock through the efilive explorer. Truck is 2007 chevy duramax lbz. E35 and e40 iirc. After the update i pulled the tune off of the ecm and reloaded it with my laptop. That seemed to work fine.

I think that I have done all of that, but I will double check. BBLogging was working before i upgraded, but I did not have the EFI explorer to look at the logs.
Is there a way to see what version of bootblock and firmware were loaded prior to the last update. The last time I updated was the spring of 2009 i believe. Perhaps I needed to update the bootblock and firmware in steps.

Use V8 EFILive Explorer (EE) to view bootblock/firmware versions, report back what they are.

Oh, silly me :doh2: there is no way to know what your V2 firmware version previously was.

Try this:
- install V7.5.6 build 175 from here: Pre-Release-Update-July-29-2011 (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?16919-Pre-Release-Update-July-29-2011)
- install V8.2.1 build 165 from here: Pre-Release-Update-July-29-2011 (http://forum.efilive.com/showthread.php?16919-Pre-Release-Update-July-29-2011)
- install bootblock 2.07.03 into V2 using EE,
- install firmware 2.07.18 into V2 using EE,
- format the config space using EE,
- format the data spaces using V2 keypad (do you have an SD card...?),
- create a new pidlists for your PCM using S&T, and program these to your V2.
Then at your V2, select the pidlist you want to log and see if you can log.

Thanks, I read through the updates and it shows a fix for BBL not starting when logging LBZ and A 40 logged simultaneously. That seems exactly like what it was doing. I should have been more clear in my original issue post. I am trying to log the ecm and tcm at the same time.
Thank you for your help, I will give this a shot this evening and report back on the progress.

You got BBL working...?
isudiesel

yes i did. i used the update that you listed in your previous post. I have not had a chance to pull the log from the v2 to look at it, but the v2 was acting correctly both recording a log and viewing the data.
thanks
Paul
