Release Candidate 2 of the EFILive V7.5 and V8 software is available for download.
This software update is a release candidate version. You may use this version in a production environment.

Auto Update:

Due to as yet unresolved problems with the automatic updates, the Auto-Update feature has been disabled,
you must manually download and install the release candidate software from the links below.

Manual download/install available here:
http://download.efilive.com/Software/V7.5/EFILiveV7.5.7.178_Setup.exe (91MB)
http://download.efilive.com/Software/V8/EFILiveV8.2.1.168_Setup.exe (25MB)

Important information

New ECM Support: E83 (Service #12636386)
We have added the ability to read and flash this ECM, however, no calibration files have been provided in this beta release, we are just looking for stock tunes to be Emailed in.
The E83 is currently used on the following US vehicles: (there maybe other European / Asian Chevrolet branded markets also using this ECM)

[*=1] 2011-2012 Chev Cruze 1.8L (LUW)[*=1]2009-2011 Chev Aveo 1.6L (LXV)[*=1]2009-2010 Pontiac G3 1.6L (LXV)[*=1] We also expect the new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic to use the E83.

Bosch gas ECM read/flash:

This beta also gives users the ability to read and flash the Bosch E55, E69 & E77 ECM's. It is important to understand that EFILive is not actively working on providing a full tuning solution for these ECM's. We have however had a number of customers request that we allow the ECM's to be read and flashed using V8 (V2 or Autocal) as they are using tuning packages from Europe that allow them to save files in open .bin formats. All they wanted was a way to read/flash the ECM's.

There is no stream option for these and it will cost you $99 per vehicle. There has not been extensive on vehicle testing for these ECM's, hence, it's beta.

Script Files
Script files have been updated. The latest script files must be copied to FlashScan/AutoCal devices to maintain compatibility with the latest V2.07.21 firmware.

Known Issues:
Issue #1

Attempting to read a CMB/CMC controller using standalone reading (BBR) when no vehicle is connected to FlashScan/AutoCal may cause FlashScan/AutoCal to hang. In that case you should power cycle FlashScan/AutoCal to regain control.

Reporting Issues:
If you discover any problems/faults, please make a note of them in this thread.
For urgent or complicated issues, please create a support ticket here: http://support.efilive.com/

Added BEN factors when using dyno lambda serial wide band PIDs:
- CALC.BEN_DYNO Base Efficiency Numerator 1 - Dyno.
- CALC.BEN_DYNO_B Base Efficiency Numerator 1 - Dyno LS2 style.
- CALC.BEN_DYNO_E38 Base Efficiency Numerator 1 - Dyno E38 style.
- CALC.BEN_DYNO_E67 Base Efficiency Numerator 1 - Dyno E67 style.

Fixed definition of PID GM.CASERL.

Added two more limiting tables, E2536 & E2567 for Cummins.
The blue registration card "License Type" descriptions now correctly match the V7.5 licensing options in the "Register EFILive" Window.
Lowered H0101 hard-limit by 1% to prevent extremely high values from causing the PCM to fail.
Added three new states for the GM.TCCMODE PID: "Slew Releasing", "Slew Applying" and "No Change".
Removed FRPADES and FRPACOM from the V8 E35A (LBZ) and E35B (LMM) definitions.
Fixed V7.5 EFILive Firmware Programmer to correctly recognize the difference between V2.04.xx and V2.05.xx boot block versions.
Fixed out of range speedo calibrations not being detected reliably.
Fixed problem that caused calibrations (tagged in red) such as the VATs patch for E37 to not be visible for some users. I.e. those who are using FlashScan devices purchased new in the past few months.
Fixed LS1 speedo calibration H0104 showing as out of range when it was not.
Fixed menu option Edit->Copy for export to V8 so that it copies DMA PIDs correctly.
Added ftlb units to GM.TRQENG_C, Added psi units to GM.TFFFP

Fixed floating point error when displaying 3D surface maps "end-on", i.e. at rotations and elevations of multiples of 90 degrees.

Fixed Allison 6 speed H0102 speedo defintion for cal levels: 8P6 and 8P7.

Added thresholds for P2101 for E37, E38 and E67

Fixed buffer overflow in *.blx trace routines. The buffer overflow caused multiple, random and most times seemingly unrelated failures during subsequent read and/or flash attempts.

Fixed P12 2MB cal-flash failure.

Added support for new E67 OS 12635457 (2012 ZR1 Corvette and 2012 CTS-V).

CMB updates add D0511, Injection Pulse Limiter Control.

V8.2.1 Build 166 (Aug 04, 2011)

Fixed user supplied unlock key being ignored.

Update selected PID lists when changing controller type in BBX setup instead of just deleting all selected PIDs.

Allow copy/paste of PID lists from V7 to V8.
Fixed LBZ/LMM V8 full-flash.
Fixed $0322 error when flashing some controllers.
Device settings are now automatically read from the connected/active device when opening Device Settings page in V8 EFILive Scan and Tune.
CAN full-flashing in V8 has been optimized for many controllers.
Example speed increases: E39 full flash was 3:44 now 2:47, E38 full-flash is 20 seconds faster, T42 full-flash is now under 1 minute.
Forced HAPI window to be displayed when a firmware update is available - instead of the system tray balloon which was not obvious enough.
Fixed PID descriptions that were not displaying correctly for some EXT.DYNxxx PIDs
Fixed data corruption during fall-flash of E35A,E35B and CMB controllers.

Fixed flash failures for multiple VPW based controllers.

Relabeled buttons and check boxes to make them more meaningful in the Read, Cal-Flash and Full-Flash tab pages of the Tune window.

Added controller specific warnings prior to reading and flashing where necessary.

The Edit->Property menu option (and the [Config] button in the Tune window) has been activated. Currently only the Tuning Tool->Warnings item is available.

The Warnings property item can be used to turn various warnings on/off.

When you use the Edit->Properties menu option is automatically goes to the [General] item in the tree view.

When you use the Tune [Config] button it automatically goes to the [Tune Tool] item in the tree view.

There are two new right-click options in the blue sections of the BBx window. They are:

Check All Used Items: add a checkmark to all items that do not have "Unused" as their caption and remove checkmark from all items that do have "Unused" as their caption.

Invert Check for All Used Items: inverts the checkbox for all items that do not have "Unused" as their caption.

There is a new "Invert Selection" right click option on the green section of the BBx window.

That usually indicates the Config file system is full. That means there are most likely older (unused) files still left on the Config file system.
The best thing to do if you get $0194 is to format the Config file system and the redo the [Program All].

Or it could mean that you are just trying to configure and program support for too many controllers into FlashScan.

Looks like the USB driver and USB library files installed on your system are not compatible.
You should see:
09:31:06.531: USB driver version: 2.8.20
09:31:06.532: USB library version: 3.1.18

Is it possible that you have software installed from a different vendor that also uses the FTDI USB drivers and that software has installed a later driver version?
If you do have other software that requires a later version you may need to install the latest FTDI USB drivers for EFILive using the program:
Start->All Programs->EFILive->V8->Tools->USB Manager.

Or you could try going back to the earlier version of the USB drivers using the same USB Manager program.

You can install right over the top. It will over write all the files.

Do not use the check for update, as it will mess up the install.

Les,
Is the whole script not working or a few select tables? I have a script that I have created, ran over my stock tune, and the two tunes look identical to each other, but the original tune I created script off of runs like it should, but the one I ran script over doesn't. It's like not all the tables are really changing, only some. But the two look identical to each other in TuneTool 7.5. I thought it may have been the base file I used that the modded tune was created off of. I don't know.

Got a new issue I think.

I've tried opening a T43 file under V7.5 build 176 and the entire "diagnostics" section is missing in Tunetool. Details are as follows...

VIN: Correct info
Engine: N/A
Transmission: N/A

OS: 24256125
OS ID: AD

Calibration: 24256124
BCC: 6124

CAL File: 24256125.calz
Version: 7.11
Date: 22nd June, 2011

If I attempt to enter the missing Diagnostics section, I get....

"This segment is not used in the LL8 PCM." in the bottom left hand window of tune tool.

If I open anther 4L80E file, for example OS: 12612381 it works fine.

Huh, LL8s are P10 PCMs, nothing close to a T43.

BTW looks like we FINALLY have the ability to clear everything that is unused in V8, this has been driving me nuts for a long long time.

And I got a weird "no licenses available" error when trying to BBF my P10 but I fired up V8 and it worked just fine. Sorry guys, cant test it was just flashing a quick tune for my brother to take my 02 back to Montana (600+mi from me). Ill see if I cant persuade one of my buddies to let me try it again on his truck this weekend.

The [Read] option reads back any previously programmed PID or tuning options. If you have never programmed any PID options then there will be nothing to read back yet - hence the $0185 error.
The cleanest way to program your selected PID and tuning options is to use the drop down arrow on the [Program] button to format the Config file system. That clears out all previous configuration data.
Then, after selecting which controllers/PIDs you want to have available in standalone mode, just click on the [Program] button to program your selection into FlashScan.

Is BBX/standalone data logging for Cummins down the pipe anytime?
FUBAR, I have in mind that we won't end up sticking with the limited scan ability of the factory OS. In beta to find those RPM limiters I created a custom PID set that logs super fast and all of it is useful data, not just 4 out of 10 things like the factory defined.
It is planned that this will make it in to the switchable tuning for Cummins (whenever that happens), I would rather spend time defining that for BBX than the somewhat disappointing factory scan info. Of course this would mean you need to be running a switchable tune, but lets face it, when that arrives everyone will anyway.

That will typically happen for only a couple of reasons:
1) You are not licensed for tuning Dodge Cummins vehicles. Check the [Upgrade] tab in the licensing area of the V7 Tune Tool. If you are licensed to tune Cummins the Cummins Upgrade box will be greyed out/disabled.
2) You don't have any available VIN licenses to be allocated.

I've got a question......

EFILive V7.5 Build 176, Scantool: At random times I get the "chart - series" maximum limit changing for no apparent reason. See this image...

11817

Note that the AFRATIO_DMA and the SPARKADV Degrees limits have both gone to a maximum of 200. I didn't do this........

Any ideas?

Simon

I've experienced this too. Don't know why either. I just re-scale and re-save.

Did you really mean Build 176 (or did you mean build 178)?

Build 176 is unstable, build 178 is stable.

Mine did it in 178. Not overly concerned with it..just informing you.

Paul

I have nothing in the folder and I'm still getting this error.

Should I be using this 168 and 178 version in the first post of this thread.. or the 170/180 versions on the main site?

I can do full reflashes now, but still getting $0194 error and I'm under 100% Free

OK...got that resolved...had to go down to about 76% to make it take. But now I'm still having issues doing CASE relearn and I can't go back to the older V8/V7.5 bc I already updated the firmware. :help2::help2:

What issue are you having with the case relearn? You run it from the DVT, and after you initiate case relearn, it doesn't say anything other than "OK" on the top of the screen, then push the gas pedal down. I personally think it is a little cryptic.

I do the whole setup procedure and get it to say OK...then I rev the motor up and....nothing. I go slow up to 4500 (still under 10 seconds). zip. I go quickly up to 4500. nada. I push it to redline...nil. The odd thing is the ECM is set to rpm limit at 4k in park...but it will go straight to redline. I've reflashed it several times.

I'm pretty sure it was longer than 10 seconds when I did it because I had no idea it was actually in ckp relearn mode. I was doing some no load VE tuning and it cut off at like 2500, and I was really confused.

That's what's so odd...I just did one last night on the same vehicle with a different ECM/Cal and it kicked in by 3k. But as I couldn't reflash this other ECM, I had to upgrade the V7.5 and V8...and poof...no more relearn. I'm trying it in another vehicle, so it will be more definitive if it's a program problem or vehicle and ECM issue.

Apparently the '09 SAAB 9-7x ECM or '09 Trailblazer GMT360 platform as a whole has some funky stuff bc it worked just fine in my '07 TBSS

Would it be possible in the "Comments" section of a tune file to list when it was flashed to a PCM? I have a few times had to re-read a tune off of my truck because I can't remember which tune I flashed to it last before I took a log.

These versions have now been superseded by a general release. Please download and install the software from our website HERE (http://www.efilive.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=48&Itemid=133).

Please do not perform the Check for Update after installation.

Just an idea. Can the RC threads be closed with a note as Tordne has put in once the GA has been released? It would probably help to let those running the RC that the GA was now the official version. I'm guessing that all "new" issues should be reported against the GA rather than the RC anyway.
