re-write the entire vcm (OS and calibrations). I see it listed for the commercial/workshop version and was wondering if we got this feature in the personal edition

No the personal version will not have full reflash capability. The Personal version will never do anything that *may* permanently disable your vehicle.
When the Commercial version is available (and supporting full reflashes), you will be able to upgrade to it from the Personal version via email.

This kinda disappoints me customers that have a 99-00 Os who may want to run an 01 os would have to pay the dealer or the tuner that owns the other software for a flash instead of me....

Soon you can upgrade to the Commercial version.
The whole reason for releasing a Commercial version was because so many people with the Personal version enquired about reflashing the entire PCM. Especially those people wanting forced induction tunes.

Origianlly only the Workshop version was going to support reflashing the entire PCM. The Personal version is advertised as "safe" and so it was never intended to support full reflashing.

So we have created a middle version called Commercial which has all the functionality of the workshop version (full reflashing and full locking) but is still PCM locked like the Personal version and so has a *much* smaller price tag than the Workshop version.

You will soon be able to upgrade your Personal version to a Commercial version via email. The price has not been set but it will probably be somewhere in the $250-$399 range.

But remember, once you upgrade to a Commercial version, EFILive does not guarantee that you cannot kill your PCM. Full reflashing has the potential to render your PCM unusable.

So what functionality are we looking at with the commercial version?

Currently the only two things that the Commercial and workshop versions have that the Personal version does/will not have are:

1. Full PCM reflashing.
2. PCM locking/unlocking capabilities on all PCMs.

Note, the Personal version can still unlock some* early PCMs if you know the key.

* In later versions of the PCM, GM closed a loophole/backdoor in the code that EFILive exploits to allow a PCM to be unlocked without reflashing the operating system. On the early PCMs, the Personal version of EFILive can perform the unlock successfully without reflashing the OS.

The two items listed above are not available in the Personal version because (under certain conditions) either of them has the potential to render your PCM inoperable.

Hey Blacky
Just wanted to confirm, the personal flashscan will be able to modify the same things ls1edit does?
High/Low octane, VE tables, IFR, MAF, etc?

You get access to every parameter and table we know about (over 400 at this stage).
There is no difference in that respect between the different license levels.

Cheers,
Ross

Does the personal version allow you to switch off the VATS?
