Which versions of V7/V8 software and V2 firmware...?

Did you correctly configure the BBx pidlists (including copying the configuration files for the ECM you're logging)...?

Downloaded all the latest, (twice), double checked the configuration of the BBx using right ECM files, tried Data Log again and got error $0185. Went to Forum where someone had posted to uncheck a box, searched everything I could find without finding any boxes I could uncheck. Tried several more times always getting the $0185. Whats next?

Which versions of V7/V8 software and V2 firmware...?

Did you correctly configure the BBx pidlists (including copying the configuration files for the ECM you're logging)...?
Did you install these:
http://download.efilive.com/Software/V7.5/EFILiveV7.5.7.180_Setup.exe
http://download.efilive.com/Software/V8/EFILiveV8.2.1.170_Setup.exe

Did you update your V2 firmware to 2.07.22...?

In V8 S&T, goto the BBx tab, and on the Scan and Tune subtabs delete all the pidlist/ECM entries that are not for your ECM, and Save.

Then format the config space and re-program the pidlists:

...
- click the down arrow on the Program button and select Format Config File System,
- click the down arrow on the Program button and select Program All Required Data (Slower),
...

Yes, updated everything before installing and the screen said that everything was good to go. The firmware would only update to 2.07.17 but the screen said it it was good.

If the firmware is 2.07.17, you need to get the most current version of EFILive as you don't have it.

Go to www.efilive.com
then to Download => Download Software
The download the V7.5 and V8 from there
Install them both
Do not at this time run the update utility.

Now run V8 and it should offer to update to boot 2.07.03 and firmware 2.07.22.
If it does that, you have the most current version

There is a document you should be aware of:

Start => All Programs => EFILive => V7.5 => Documents => EFILive Error Messages

That error means you need to format the config file system. Open up V8, Click the BBX button, then click the little arrow at the right edge of the Program button and choose Format Config File System.
