Hi,
I am getting close to giving my GenIII 5.7 with a 4L60E trani that I have fitted to my HJ60 Landcrusier it's first start (since I bought it).

What PID's should I be monitoring during first start up and initial run?

Or before I even turn the key is there some PID's or conditions I should enssure are right before try for a start?

I would appreciate any input!

Include these engine pids:
VSS
TP
RPM
DYNCYLAIR or DYNCYLAIR_DMA
DYNAIR
MAF (SAE or GM)
MAP (SAE)
IAT
ECT
EQIVRATIO or AFR
SPARKADV
KR
LONGFT1
LONGFT2

Maybe include these also:
DYNAIRTMP_DMA
SHRTFT1
SHRTFT2
HO2S11 (not HO2S12 or HO2S22)
HO2S21 (not HO2S12 or HO2S22)
IBPW1
IBPW2
MFTOTAL

Maybe include some auto trans pids:
TFT
GEAR
TCCMODE
TFMPRS
TRQENG
SHIFTLAST

Keep the pid channel count to 24 or fewer channels (see bottom of PIDs tab).

Example of 24 channels:
VSS
TP
RPM
DYNCYLAIR
DYNAIR
MAF (SAE or GM)
MAP (SAE)
IAT
ECT
EQIVRATIO or AFR
SPARKADV
KR
LONGFT1
LONGFT2
SHRTFT1
SHRTFT2
HO2S11 (not HO2S12 or HO2S22)
HO2S21 (not HO2S12 or HO2S22)
MFTOTAL

Hey Leychut
best of luck with the start-up, please post your results if you dont mind. Im also almost ready to start up for the first time with a fresh motor (built from scratch) and would be interested to see how yours goes.

I wouldn't log anything until the first drive (and even then I probably wouldn't log anything until I have a feel for something that needs corrected) :D

Keep eyes on oil pressure, coolant temp and level, check for fuel or other fluid leaks. IMO, doing these things is much more important than anything you'll find in a first-start data logging session.

A wideband would be nice so you could monitor AFR to make sure it's not dumping fuel.

Good luck, lots of exciting times ahead!
