Hey there,

Do anyone Disable their O2 Sensors with the Cam motor???

Thanks

It depends upon what they are trying to achieve and what camshaft is being used in the engine. some run open loop, some run closed loop, some run the MAF and others (like me) run Semi-open loop.

There are plenty of ways to skin a cat.

does open loop mean the oxgen sensors are off ?? also how do we get into open loop

I currently run in open loop and have been for a while. but eventually that'll change...

Open loop means that the feedback from the O2 sensors is ignored by the PCM, and they do not affect fueling. you might say that they're "turned off", but thats not technically accurate if you want to get into semantics.

Closed loop means that the O2 sensor feedback IS being used to trim the fueling.

semi-open loop is a feature available in the custom operating systems that allows the O2 sensor feedback to only use short term trims (STFT) to affect the fueling, but not long term trims (LTFT).

also, just to be clear, the front O2 sensors are the only ones that affect the fueling, post cat sensors do not, they are there to monitor the cat efficiency.

eventually I'll run semi-open loop, but that probably won't be for a while as I've got some big upgrades and more tuning coming.

running in open loop all the time requires a very good tune when it comes to VE and other airflow and fueling maps.
