how high are you guys goin with your duration? me and andrew talked the other day about some things that could happen with to much duration (cracking an injector body is what mainly concerns me). im currently running 3100us with 45*max timing. rolling into it from 60-105mph, after the turbo lights, theres a very small haze and egts get to 1400-1425* max. fp is all but identicle at 160mpa. stock motor. what are your guys thoughts with adding more us?

I'm running 3100@45@160 and all is good.

My pulling truck is running 2750@45@160.

There's no way to crack an injector body from duration. That's done via excessive pressure.

When we talked, I meant too much pressure behind a long pulse time.

gottcha. is there a # that u shouldn't go past though? like 3200 or up? thanks for the responses

A pulse has NOTHING to do with cracking a body. NOT A THING. It's 100% a pressure issue. And in reality, a longer duration will relieve some of the pressure compared to a shorter duration, making it harder to build a dangerous pressure.

Doesn't matter. The biggest risk with pressure isn't cracking a body. It's internal wear over time.

The reason a long duration is dangerous is that it causes you to run into the dangers associated with long duration (which equals added timing), such as predetonation (which equals reduced power and/or blown engines), and spraying out of the bowl.

I'd leave rail pressure at a stock 160 MPa..I am not a fan of increased pressure. Your injectors and your wallet will thank you.

I'm of the same school of thought, Les. I may ramp it up a little sooner (not a lot), but I see no reason to exceed stock max rail pressure.

max pressure is at 160. not goin higher
