I read stock tune and saved file. Upgrade to dsp. I meant to use dsp5 and somehow must have used dsp2. Upgrade applied successful. Saved file. Closed and reopened. Full flash to ecm worked fine. Opened file to start making changes and discovered it was dsp2. Decided to full flash stock Operating system back in and It says status unknown and there is a light on the dash with a car and a padlock. I think the ecm locked. It won't crank or anything. I stopped and disconnected batteries and will reconnect them tommorow after work. What is going on and how do I fix it???????????????????????????? By the way this is an 07 Classic LBZ.

Had the same issue try unhooking the plugs at the ecm, wait 30 minutes the reconnect and try to flash. Do not use the V8 software, If still status unknown, you bricked the ecm. Buy a new ecm and start over.

Did you try disconnecting the battery at all? Given that we use the ECMs own bootloaders these are most often recoverable.

Please also first ensure that you are up-to-date with all software and firmware (see below articles):
- Software updates (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=5404-IJZV-0820) DO NOT do the Check for Updates after installation as there are currently issues with that.
- Firmware updates (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=7243-SFGL-2949)

Also try flashing the stock OS with both V7 and V8. If you have problems still email me ([email protected]) the trace file as per this article (http://support.efilive.com/kb_article.php?ref=8254-QOGC-9586). Only send the specific file that relates to the failed flash.

He said that he disconnected the batteries and will hook them up after work the following day.

I have three LBZ ecms that are locked, totally dead units. Full flashes failed and locked the ecm.

I am going to try using tech2 and try to blank it out and flash latest OS in it at work and hopefully it will bring it back to life.

I know that was written in the post, but there was not follow-up at the time to indicate a result from having done so. Can you all please confirm you have the latest software and FlashScan V2 firmware?

Well thank you for the support EFILive Crew but I think there is no hope. I cannoot get the tech2 to communicate with the ecm. I can communicate to all other control modules but the ecm does not respond. I have been connected to tisweb and tried to reprogram but ecm is unresponsive. I think it is fried. The bad thing is it was just replaced under warranty in August. It doesn't make sense. The full flash to dsp said it was completed. But after that connection to ecm was lost and unknown. I don't know what fried it but I know I will never plug into another truck without making sure there is absolutely no updates available. So now I guess it is New ecm time.

There is a number of people on here who could get you a new ECM much cheaper than via a dealer.

We can diagnose it for you, and provide a replacement also, if necessary.
