Ok so on the ECM swap says download your current program off the ECM. Where do I go and do that? I did the read PCM calibration in tune tool was that the right thing to do? After that do I have to clear the data in the new 0411 ECM or just copy it over? If someone could link me a post about it cause I couldn't find anything on search odd enough

Yes, from the tunetool, read the calibration and save it to file.

What PCM are you swapping from...?

I'm swaping from a ls1a ECM to a 0411 ecm.

Also since I have unlimited 98 tuning I take my vin from the ls1a ECM wouldn't count against my vin license amount?

EFILive tuning licences are not VIN dependent, they are controller dependent. You may tune as many LS1-A PCMs as you like - free of charge. You are now swaping to an LS1-B PCM - this will require a tuning licence - irrelevent of the VIN in the LS1-B PCM.

Taz

You will have to copy tables from the LS1A to the LS1B...

open two instances of the tunetool, and use copy-with-labels and paste-with-labels to get the columns/rows aligned correctly; there will be a few tables that don't fit; when done copying tables, save the LS1B file and do a full flash;

a good LS1B file to use is the 12212156 file with the trans segment matching your actual trans.

Ok so if I used the12212156 file with a 4l80e trans segment and just copy the rest of the tables not segments over on all the rest of the stuff correct? I'm running a 4l80 on 98 that why the ECM upgrade

Well ok the ls1a has alot less tables then the ls1b. Do I just leave that stuff in there as is then?

Yes, just leave the tables that can't be copied; copy all the other tables.

Ok been looking at the files and starting to get a feel for it. I have a tune that is a 98 -02 tune with the segment in it. Now can I just upload that into the new ECM and call it done or is there a reason I'm not seeing to upload my stock tune first then upload the 98-02 tune?

Right now I'm adjusting shift point of this 4l80e segment I swapped in.

You mean a 98->02 conversion tune (based on the 02 file, with 98 tables copied in)...?

Your stock 98 tune will not upload into the 0411 PCM; so just simply full flash the 98->02 conversion tune into the 0411 PCM.

Ok yep that's what I was wondering thanks again. This tuning stuff pretty fun. Just have to figure out what I'm doing lol

Well programmed the new ECM. Put the 4l80 segment in from a express van and changed the shift times and stuff like that. Only thing in scan tool it shows 4wd is that going to be a problem?
