i have an 08 LMM and this error keeps coming up when I try to read my ecm.. and also can not flash!... but v8 works for some reason? i was able to tune with v8 and i would rather use v7.5.. i tried unplugging the radio fuse and info.. same error.. whats the deal?/

The V8 software uses native CAN comms and is more robust than V7 for CAN vehicles.
The V7 software uses a similar concept to GM's CANDi module that translates between VPW and CAN. There are some things that V8 does much better then V7 because of that intermediate step that V7 has to do.

If you send me (paul@efilive.com) the trace files for V7 (that fails) and V8 (that works) I can compare them and try and see what might be causing the CAN-VPW bridge to fail.
