A buddy of mine has a 2000 Isuzu Amigo FWD with a 2.2L I4. I tried reading it today, but couldnt get a read. Tried P08, P11, and LS1B, no dice. The PCM is tucked up under the dash near the firewall and I dont have any tools to pull things apart so I couldnt see what it physically looks like.

I was able to select P08 as the controller type in V7.5 Scan, validate PIDs, but it wouldnt report an OS # or calibration #s. I was able to connect to it using LS1B DVTs and turn the MIL lamp on, cooling fan relays, etc.

Ive attached the V8 trace files (didnt try to read using V7.5) and a picture with the VIN, controller serial number, and hardware number.

Any idea what PCM this thing uses? If so, is it supported? I was hoping P08 but unless it has a weird custom seed/key, it doesnt look like thats the case.

(Also, the forum wont let me upload .htx files so I zipped them. These are the last 2 attempts, 1 using P08 the other LS1B.)

(P.S. I can see Ross and Andrew shaking their heads, Im bringing them another oddball. As if the P10 wasnt bad enough...:crash:)

Erik,

Is this a real Isuzu vehicle? Regardless, being a 2000 model it could be some weird PCM GM found somewhere, for example, the 2000 Isuzu's with the 3.2L V6 used something like an LS1 PCM but with a CAN controller built in, very odd indeed. The code was also unique to that PCM, obviously we saw no potential in that market and put that one aside. I would say your friends Amigo will be a no go.

Ross, yes I believe it is a true Isuzu vehicle. I will try to find the PCM on it when I have time, but Im guessing since I can talk to it with DVTs and scan tool that its a weird hybrid GM/Isuzu PCM. I was hoping with the same engine as other small GM cars they would share PCMs. Guess this isnt the case. He needs to get some mechanical things done too.

Bummer, doesnt help there werent many I4 Amigos made and most have the 3.2L V6 you mentioned.

Probably the same stupid one that's in my Saturn :(
Service Information shows two different 2.2 liters, one is identified as an L43. (?) I am sure they both have different PCMs also :( ....GM
