4.3 to 5.3 Swap

I am looking for advice/help on a 4.3 to 5.3 swap.

I have a 2000 Silverado with the 4.3 manual trans. I am purchasing a 5.3 out of a 2004 Silverado that had an automatic trans.

I am getting entire wiring harness and PCM with the 5.3.

I would like to keep the ECM from my 4.3 but not sure it will work with the 5.3 and how to import the required settings for a V8.

Or should I use the PCM from the 5.3 and import the manual trans settings?

Any help is appreciated.
