Hi All,
I'd like to convert my 98 Suburban to drive by wire (currently cable).
I have coming....03 Denali TB, TAC module and pedal.
Any thoughts?
Is this doable?
I'm running the 0411 PCM with a 2002 Express van tune and COS3 at present.
Oh...reason for the swap?
MUCH easier to mount the TB FBW (anywhere I want) with the SC and intake manifold mods I have.

Hi hquick,
I converted my HJ60 landcruiser to DBW when I fitted a LS1 to it. I purchased the pedal and TAC from the same dona vehicle (VZ 2005 Calais) that my engine came from.
It was pretty straight forward once I got the pinout correct.
Though I think that because you are going from A DBC to a DBW you may not have the DBW calibration in your platform. I am not sure if it is something you can do by just by flashing a tune from a vehicle that has DBW or whether it can only be done with a tech2.
If you get hold of "Doublechip" on this forum, he should be able to assist you with getting that side fixed up. I am pretty sure he has a tech2 programer.
Cheers,

Hello Howard,
I'm assuming your 1998 Suburban is running a 5.7 L L31 Vortec engine (or similar). The 2002 Express tune you are using is setup for a low resolution CKP (4x) and a distributor mounted CMP (1x). There is no 2003+ calibration that is compatible with a 4x CKP - making your 2003 APP, TAC, and TB incompatible.
An option is to upgrade your Vortec engines 4x CKP to a 24x CKP - available from EFI Connection - putting the 2003+ calibration and parts back on the table.
If you want to maintain your 4x CKP, you could try using a 2002 Corvette calibration and parts (APP, TAC, TB). This may not work, as swapping in the low resolution CKP (system) segment, may also alter the DBW portion of the Corvette calibration - not sure have never done this.
Regards,
Taz

Hey Guys...thanks for the replies.
Yes Taz...still running the L31. I'm considering doing the 24x swap. I received the parts yesterday...so as soon as I get time I'll setup a PCM and play around witrh some tunes.
