performed a 0411 swap in 42 willys coupe with a stock 89 tpi and a 200r4. down loaded 02 g van file with cos speed density. problem is at a restart the engine drags ( like bad starter, high timing, weak battery) after several revolutions. I've noticed the pcm sees the trans in 2nd gear with no p/n input. could this be the culprit (no p/n input ).It also seems to be loading the cylinders with fuel on the restart aka black smoke. Should it also have cranking signal input from the ign. switch not the 4x. Thanks

well wensday is here....underneath this demon project....you have to love a 9 foot ground cable straight from the battery (trunk) to bell housing with one little pissie 12 gauge body ground.....grounds are your best friend or your worst enemy. next opportunity please.

So the lack of grounds was the problem? With additional grounds does it re-start easier now?

Sounds like a cool project BTW.

yes resart issue resolved....didnt get much time to tune on.Its still a little fat at idle, debating on taking the speed density tune out and running a maf. You wouldnt belive the night and day difference in how the car responded to the correct voltage. Its hard sometimes when when your going over someone elses work, you just have to walk away and think....Whats youre input on the speed density vs maf. the engine is bone stock
