Just got back from a drive after updating my 99 Camaro with the 02 operating system. I was really worried before I started but once I got into the transferring of information from the current tune to the 02 operating system it seemed simpler than I expected. The car drove like normal and I couldn't tell any difference beside the computer relearning a few things- mostly idle. But I'm excited to finally have my feet wet in EFILive! Tune is posted above if I uploaded it correctly, feel free to comment and advice on what should be done next.

What PIDs should I get some logs of before I start tuning?

(SAE. prefix if available, otherwise GM. prefix):

EQIVRATIO
MAF
MAP
TP
RPM
LONGFT1/2
IBPW1/2
IAT
ECT
SPARKADV
KR
DYNAIR
DYNCYLAIR
WO2LAM1 (if using wideband serial comms)

Keep pid channel count no greater than 24 (see bottom of PIDs tab in scantool).

Do you have a wideband? Your VE table needs work - it is hacked... Have you read the tutorial on autoVE tuning? Good place to start...

Nope, I've been looking at getting a wideband, and have been offered to borrow one locally. And I have read the tutorial, but that doesn't mean I understand everything yet. More reading to do and I'm going to get some logs going on the car.

What do you see on the VE table that leads you to think it's subpar? Trying to learn not doubt.

VE table doesn't show the traditional dyno torque curve shape (rises to a peak and then drops down some)...

it looks more like what boost would require.

Logs from today. Only thing I can complain with the car is when cruising and when taking the car out of gear (manual) the RPMs will jump to 1300-1700 until the car comes to a full and complete stop then it returns to idle at 750ish.

The 90-105 kpa from 2000 rpm and up - that shelf is no way what the engine would want for fueling. When you tune the VE properly using a wideband, it will not have large jumps like that and won't be a level shelf either. Like Joe said, it should smoothly rise up and drop back down... Here is an example...

You need to work on the throttle cracker table to change that...

Same car w/ the 12 bolt. Not worried about the power. Just tying to learn the software- when the new engine goes in I'll figure out what wasn't happy in this current set up, cam, timing, springs, something.
